NORDIC WALKING
Nordic Walking started in Finland in 1930s as a summer training for Cross-country skiers. Finnish Cross-country skiers trained on Dirt road or Asphalt road.
In 1939-1940, some Finnish Cross-country skiers were in 9th Division of Finnish Army (sissy) and defeated USSR on December, 1939.
In 1941-1944, 9th Division of Finnish Cross-country skiers and Finnish Army joined Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim was the highest authority of 9th Division of Finnish Army. (see image Adolf Hitler, Emil Mannerheim and 9th Division of Finnish Army)
Mauri Repo (Finland, 1945-2002) is considered the founder of Nordic Walking. He was the first person to write about Nordic Walking. Nordic Walking was first formally defined with the publication of Hiihdon lajiosa (TUL, 1979) (translation: A part of cross-country skiing training methodic) by Mauri Repo.

In 2000, International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) was founded. INWA founded INWA technique in 2000.
In 2000, Dan Barrett (USA) also founded FITTREK technique.

In 2011, World Original Nordic Walking Federation (WONWF) was founded.
