John Lees (1945) is a British race walker and world-record holder of Multiday events (Walking).
In 1971, John Lees walked from Land's End to John o' Groats (Great Britain).
In 1972, he walked 4.628 km, from Los Angeles to New York, in 53 days, 12 hours and 15 minutes. He broke the Across USA World Record and the Across California-New York World Record.
In 1975 British Championships, he won the silver medal in the 50 km Race Walking.
In 1977, he also won the London to Brighton Race.
Since 1980´s, John Lees became the sports reporter for various BBC radio stations in the south east of England, including BBC Sussex, BBC Surrey and BBC Southern Counties Radio, where he was often referred to as "the gentleman of sport". He retired from BBC radio in September 2017.
