Michael Gates (Australia) is a nordic walker and world-record holder of Ultra-Endurance and Multiday events (Nordic Walking).
In 2004, he walked 2.000 km between Melbourne and Brisbane in 22 days. He broke the Across Australia World Record and Across Victoria-Queensland World Record.
In 2006, Gates walked during 36 hours. He broke the Ultra-Endurance Nordic Walking World Record of 36 hours (192 km).
In 2019, the 15th birthday of this great walk across Australia has been commemorated.
