Volodymyr Stepanovych Holubnychy (1936-2021) was a Ukrainian race walker, who competed for the Soviet Union. He dominated the 20 km Race Walking in the 1960s and 1970s.
In 1955, Holubnychy broke Race Walking World Record of 20 km (1h 30m 36s).
In 1959, he broke Race Walking World Record of 20 km (1h 27m 04s).
In 1960 Olympic Games, he won the gold medal in the 20 km of Race Walking.
In 1968 Olympic Games, he also won the gold medal in the 20 km of Race Walking.
In 1974 European Championships, he won the gold medal in the 20 km of Race Walking.
Holubnychy was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour in 1960, the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1969 and the Medal For Labour Valour in 1972.
